Beyond the film

More than a short film, Desolate Dreams is part of a larger educational initiative designed to bring this overlooked history into classrooms and communities through educational resources, community screenings, and an interactive website. 

We have been working closely with Howard University’s Black Press Archives to gather archival newspaper clippings from Black newspapers and journalists who wrote about the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II in solidarity.
